During my younger years, I was overweight—a kid who spent most of his time playing video games and rarely staying active. I vividly remember a time when my mom became concerned about my health and took me to get my blood work done and see a nutritionist. At 13, my nutritionist told me my cholesterol levels were dangerously high and that if I didn’t change my diet and start exercising, I’d need to take medication to manage it. That conversation was a turning point in my life. From then on, I made a commitment to improve my health—every day after school, I did at-home exercises and focused on eating healthier. Six months later, my nutritionist told me my cholesterol was back to normal, and I wouldn’t need to take pills. That experience taught me the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. From that moment on, I found myself drawn to weightlifting and began learning how to build muscle. In college, I discovered powerlifting and even became one of the founding members of my college powerlifting club. I competed in competitions and set numerous state records, and powerlifting became an integral part of my life!
